The honest version

What the work is actually like, what we offer in return, and exactly what happens after you press send.

We are small, and that is the point

One engineering team stands behind CautaReside, CautaManage and FloodCheckGH. There is no layer between the person who writes the code and the person who decides what to build, which means you will be in the conversation about what matters — and accountable for what you shipped.

It also means the work is broad. In a given quarter an engineer here might touch a migration, an access-control integration, an offline sync bug and a customer call. If you want a narrow lane, this is not the right place. If you have been waiting for permission to own something end to end, it is.

We build for conditions, not for demos

Our users are on mid-range Android phones, on networks that drop, in buildings with generators and gates and paperwork. Everything we ship has to work offline and sync when the connection comes back. That constraint shapes every technical decision we make, and it makes people better engineers than building for perfect conditions ever would.

How we actually operate

Where we are

Accra, Ghana, with customers across West Africa. Most roles are hybrid: an office worth coming to, and the trust to work where you work best. A few roles are on-site by nature — implementation and support are at customer estates — and a few are fully remote. Each role says which.

What happens after you apply

Four steps, usually inside three weeks. You will hear from us either way — a silent rejection is a bad way to treat someone who spent an evening on an application.

1

We read it properly

A person reads your CV and your note. Expect an answer within a week.

2

A first conversation

45 minutes on what you have built, what you want next, and what the role actually involves. Ask us anything.

3

A practical exercise

A short, paid-for-your-time task close to the real work. No week-long take-homes, no whiteboard algorithm theatre.

4

Meet the team, then an offer

You meet the people you would work with, we check references, and we make a decision quickly.

Questions we get asked

Do I need experience in property or construction software?

No — almost nobody arrives with it. We care that you can learn a domain properly and that you are curious about how a real business runs.

Can I work fully remotely?

Most roles are hybrid out of Accra, because a lot of our work involves being on a site. Each role states its work mode, and a few are fully remote.

Do you sponsor relocation?

For senior roles we help with relocation to Accra, including the paperwork. Say so in your application and we will tell you what is possible for that role.

How long does hiring take?

Usually under three weeks from application to decision, and you hear from us at every stage — including a no.

Is the practical exercise paid?

Yes. It is short, close to the real work, and we pay for your time.

What happens to my CV if I am not hired?

If you tick the box on the form, we keep it on file for future roles. If you do not — or if you email careers@cautagroup.com at any point — we delete it, including the file itself.

I applied before and did not get it. Can I apply again?

Yes, and people do get in on a second try. Tell us what has changed since.

Do you work with recruitment agencies?

No. We hire directly, and unsolicited agency CVs are deleted unread.
